Outdoor sitting areas
The area around Genouillac feels very much like old rural France. Peaceful, very green with many streams, ponds and even lakes. Wildlife abounds. The lakes of the 'Haute Charente' are a 15 minute drive away, as is the 'plan d'eau' an organised swimming area, suitable for children, with a sandy 'beach' and refreshments available. It is in a beautiful setting and entry is free.

For those interested in nature and walking, there are lanes and ancient trails within 100m of the gites.

History is never far away, villages such as Exideuil, La Rochefoucauld and Confolens with their churches, castles and old stone houses also offer good opportunities for eating out. Angouleme is only a 30 minute drive away with its ramparts, museums and cobbled streets.
